Sault Ste. Marie City Council and the Celebrate 100! Team encourages local groups to participate in the 2012 celebration by developing an event that your group could host during the many festivities of 2012 throughout the City. Do you have an exciting and innovative idea for an event that you would like to see occur in the community and one that will promote the upcoming 100 year celebration? If so, you can enjoy the many benefits associated with positioning your event and your group’s participation with the Celebrate 100! brand. What greater way to showcase your group’s pride than by developing an event in celebration of this milestone.
Use your imagination and collaborate on ideas of what you would like to see happen in our community in 2012 and how your event will attract tourists and residents, past and present, to participate in the Celebrate 100! festivities.
Events could include: - Arts and cultural events
- Musical concert events
- Green projects
- Guided or self-guided walks showcasing the places that are special to your group
- Aboriginal culture events
- Exhibitions and historical displays exploring the development of our City over the last 100 years
- Historical tours
- Talks and lectures about the history of Sault Ste. Marie
- Educational competitions or activities
Please provide a detailed outline of your event using the Community Event Template. Please refer to the Celebrate 100! Community Event Guidelines to ensure that your event meets the eligibility criteria. All events must be registered with the Celebrate 100! Team 90 days prior to the event date.
The Celebrate 100! Team thanks you for your consideration and we look forward to discussing this opportunity in greater detail with you.
